Classrooms Like No Others

SCVi recently had the opportunity to make use of some vacated space. Classrooms were set up in what used to be a sandwich shop and a nail salon.

The Gandolfo's sandwich shop still had all the original fixtures and counters. We simply moved in the necessary equipment to make it a classroom.  It makes a really unique learning environment.

The nail salon had a nice front area for customers to wait. This was turned into a reading nook.

The reading nook is separated from the rest of the school by a glass block wall. The rest of the class is situated in this space.  The back of the store was already divided into rooms so it could be used as  offices for administration.

These classrooms will be significantly renovated in Summer 2012, but for now, they make a very unique and interesting learning space.
